In the field of talent acquisition, challenges often present opportunities for learning and improvement. This was the case for a multinational logistics company that was experiencing a lower than desired pass rate at the examination stage of their recruitment process. As this exam was a global requirement, removing it from the process was not an option. The task was to find a way to improve the pass rate while maintaining the integrity of the process.

The team at HCM Nexus took on this challenge. They began by interviewing candidates who had taken the exams, aiming to understand the difficulties they were facing. The feedback revealed that candidates needed a refresher on cognitive ability exams and found it challenging to manage the pressure of time-constrained examinations.

In response to these findings, HCM Nexus provided candidates with links to practice exams. This allowed candidates to familiarize themselves with the exam format and improve their time management skills. As a result, there was a noticeable increase in the candidate pass rate.

The logistics company observed the difference in the pass rate between candidates from HCM Nexus and other vendors. They asked HCM Nexus about their approach, and the team shared their strategy. The client found this approach useful and decided to adopt it.

This case study illustrates the importance of understanding and addressing the needs of candidates in the recruitment process. It shows how a thoughtful and responsive approach can lead to improvements in candidate success rates. It also highlights the value of sharing effective strategies, contributing to the overall improvement of recruitment practices.
